These guidelines apply to profiles, matchmaking, and calls.
Adults only
Tekalam is strictly 18+. Do not use Tekalam if you are under 18. If you reasonably believe another user may be under 18, end the conversation and report the account using Underage Concern.
Respect other users
Do not harass, bully, intimidate, humiliate, repeatedly insult, or deliberately distress another person. If someone asks you to stop a topic or ends a conversation, respect that decision.
No threats or encouragement of harm
Do not threaten violence, encourage violence, glorify serious harm, or pressure another person to hurt themselves or someone else.
No hate or abusive targeting
Do not attack or demean people based on personal characteristics or identity. Do not use slurs, degrading stereotypes, or targeted hateful abuse.
No sexual exploitation or unwanted sexual behaviour
Do not pressure another person into sexual conversation or sexual behaviour. Sexual exploitation, threats, coercion, and non-consensual sexual conduct are prohibited. Any sexual content involving or appearing to involve a person under 18 is strictly prohibited and should be reported immediately.
Protect privacy
Do not share another person’s private information without permission. Do not attempt to identify, locate, expose, or track another user. Do not pressure users to reveal their address, workplace, school, passwords, financial information, or precise location.
Do not secretly record calls
Tekalam does not record calls by default. Do not secretly record, publish, upload, sell, or distribute another user’s voice or conversation without permission.
No scams, spam, or impersonation
Do not scam users, request money dishonestly, distribute spam, run deceptive promotions, steal accounts, obtain passwords, or impersonate another person, company, public figure, or Tekalam staff member in order to mislead others.
Do not evade safety controls
Do not create accounts to evade blocks, restrictions, suspensions, or bans. Do not repeatedly attempt to contact someone who has blocked or rejected you.
Use Report and Block
Use Block when you do not want to be matched with someone again. Use Report for behaviour that may violate these guidelines.
Available report reasons include Harassment, Sexual Content, Hate or Abuse, Threats, Spam, Underage Concern, and Other. Reports should be truthful and made in good faith.
Consequences
Depending on severity and repetition, Tekalam may warn a user, restrict matchmaking, suspend an account, or permanently ban an account. Serious safety concerns may result in immediate restriction or banning.
Vent is peer conversation
Vent is a space for peer conversation. It is not therapy, professional counselling, crisis care, or emergency support.
