Safety & Moderation Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

Tekalam uses account-linked moderation even though users appear pseudonymous to one another. Users are pseudonymous to other users, but they are not anonymous to the platform.

Safety tools

Tekalam provides controls intended to help users leave or manage unwanted conversations quickly, including End, Next, Mute, Report, and Block.

Reports

Reports may include a reason and optional additional details. Reports are connected to internal account and match information so Tekalam can investigate patterns of misuse.

Common report categories include Harassment, Sexual Content, Hate or Abuse, Threats, Spam, Underage Concern, and Other.

Blocking

Blocking is designed to prevent the blocking user from being intentionally matched with the blocked account again. Users are not told private information about who blocked them.

Moderation information

Tekalam may use account identifiers, profile information, match history, timestamps, report history, block history, ban history, usage information, and repeated abuse patterns when reviewing safety issues.

Calls are not recorded by default, so moderation decisions may sometimes rely on reports and platform metadata rather than an audio recording.

Possible actions

Depending on severity, frequency, and available information, Tekalam may take no action, warn a user, restrict matchmaking, temporarily suspend an account, permanently ban an account, or restrict additional accounts associated with ban evasion.

Underage concerns

Tekalam is 18+. Accounts reasonably suspected of belonging to someone under 18 may be restricted while the issue is reviewed. Users should report suspected underage use through Underage Concern.

Rate limits and abuse prevention

Tekalam may use rate limits and automated integrity controls to reduce spam, repeated skipping, abusive reporting, bot activity, ban evasion, and manipulation of matchmaking.

Emergency situations

Tekalam is not an emergency or crisis-response service. Vent is peer conversation and should not be treated as professional therapy or crisis care. If someone appears to be in immediate danger, contact an appropriate local emergency or crisis service.

Fair use of safety tools

Users should not weaponize reports, create false reports, coordinate harassment through reporting, or repeatedly target another user after being blocked. Misuse of safety tools may itself result in account action.
