Privacy Policy
This policy explains the information Tekalam uses to operate the service, provide private voice matching, manage account access, and help keep the community safer.
Information you provide
When you create or use a Tekalam account, we may receive information such as:
- Email address
- Password credentials handled by our authentication provider
- Date of birth
- Username
- Gender
- Country
- Language preference
- Selected preset avatar
Your email address is private and is not displayed to other users.
Public profile information
Other users may see profile information intended for matching and conversation, such as your username, preset avatar, gender, country, and language. Tekalam does not display your precise location.
Match and usage information
We may store operational information needed to run and improve Tekalam, including account identifiers, queue activity, match identifiers, conversation category, match status and timestamps, call-duration or usage totals, skip/end events, account-plan or entitlement status, and matching filter settings.
This information may be used for matchmaking, usage limits, product reliability, abuse prevention, moderation, and service security.
Voice calls
Tekalam does not record voice calls by default. Live audio must be processed and transmitted by our real-time voice provider to connect matched users. Technical information needed to establish and maintain a call may also be processed.
Reports, blocks, bans, and safety data
To operate safety features, Tekalam may store reports, report reasons and optional details, block relationships, moderation history, ban status, ban reasons, restriction/expiry information, relevant match identifiers, and abuse-prevention events.
Some safety and integrity information may need to be retained for a reasonable period to investigate abuse, prevent ban evasion, comply with legal obligations, or protect users and the service.
Service providers
Tekalam currently relies on third-party providers to operate key parts of the service, including:
- Supabase for authentication, database, backend functions, and related infrastructure.
- Agora for real-time voice communications.
- Resend for transactional emails such as account verification and password recovery.
- Apple for iOS distribution and, when enabled, in-app purchases and subscriptions.
These providers may process information necessary to provide their part of the service under their own terms and privacy practices.
What Tekalam does not intentionally make public
Tekalam does not intentionally make your email address, password, internal account identifier, moderation history, reports, block list, ban information, or precise location visible to other users.
Data retention
Different categories of information may be kept for different periods. We aim to retain account, match, usage, moderation, and abuse-prevention information only as long as reasonably needed to operate the service, maintain security and integrity, investigate safety issues, prevent repeated abuse, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
Account deletion and privacy requests
You can initiate permanent account deletion from inside the Tekalam app under Settings → Delete Account. Account deletion removes the account and associated application data, subject to limited retention where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or safety purposes.

Security
Tekalam uses private accounts, access controls, backend permissions, rate limits, and platform security features intended to reduce unauthorized access and misuse. No online system can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their passwords and avoid sharing sensitive information during conversations.
Children
Tekalam is strictly for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit people under 18 to use the service. Suspected underage use may be reported and restricted.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Tekalam changes. Material updates will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
